EVENTBRITE’S BLOG RALLY – NYC
A few weeks ago, I was in New York city and photographed the “Looking Up” sculpture by Tom Friedman. I used the panorama feature of my I-Phone, did a quick edit and posted it on Instagram and FB. A couple of days later one of the writers for Eventbrite’s blog Rally asked me if she could include “…my amazing picture…” 
in an article that features some of the best Instagram photos of NYC. She also asked me to write anything I wanted about it, such as what made me take the picture, etc. The article went live last week. Here is the link

About the photo: I had come across this sculpture on one of the many NYC Instagram accounts I follow and decided I was going to see it before it is moved away. There is a sign on the bottom of the sculpture that indicates it will be there only until July 2016. It is an interesting sculpture because it is made of crushed aluminum roasting pans that gives the sculpture a unique texture. The feet and hands are enormous, but the head is relatively small. I feel this sculpture is the perfect depiction of all of us when we visit New York City. We are constantly looking up and marveled by the amazing architecture and the discovery of the places we have heard of so many times and finally have the joy to see in person.”
